Всем привет! Продолжаю тему крымских каникул. Провести отпуск в Крыму я задумала еще в январе месяце, найдя на сайте Groupon.ru очень интересное предложение, которое действовало до конца апреля. Всегда хотела посмотреть весну в Крыму. Кстати, вы знаете, что изначально понятие "бархатный сезон" относился как раз к этому времени года и именно в этом благодатном крае? Еще Куприн писал: "Но бархатный сезон! Это золотые дни Ялты, да, пожалуй, и для всего крымского побережья. Он продолжается не более месяца и обычно совпадает с последней неделей Великого поста, с Пасхой и Фоминой неделей."  Кто и почему впоследствии "перенес" временные рамки бархотного сезона на сентябрь, доподлинно не известно, но, скорее всего, это произошло после революции и "упразднения" пасхальных праздников. В итоге, в апреле мы не поехали, а поехали в конце мая. Поскольку организаторы продлили акцию, и кроме того, мы все ждали, какова же будет политическая обстановка. Вот уж никак не думала зимой, что поеду уже в российский Крым...

Crimea. The ancient city of Tauric Chersonese...КРЫМ. НА РАЗВАЛИНАХ ХЕРСОНЕСА

Hmm, I thought with what to begin the story about the Crimea. As a result I decided to begin with the end... Today I will tell you about the ancient city of Chersonese which ruins are located in the Crimean Sevastopol. We visited it at the end of our travel. Simply tremendous place!


Chersonesus is an ancient Greek colony founded approximately 2,500 years ago in the southwestern part of the Crimean Peninsula. The colony was established in the 6th century BC by settlers from Heraclea Pontica. The ancient city is located on the shore of the Black Sea at the outskirts of Sevastopol. The name "Chersonesos" in Greek means "peninsula", and aptly describes the site on which the colony was established. It should not be confused with the Tauric Chersonese, the name often applied to the whole of the southern Crimea. The site is now part of the National Historical-Archeological Museum-Zapovednik of the Khersones Tavriysky.
In the late 2nd century BC Chersonesus became a dependency of the Bosporan Kingdom. It was subject to Rome from the middle of the 1st century BC until the 370s AD, when it was captured by the Huns.
In 833 Emperor Theophilus sent the nobleman Petronas Kamateros, who had recently overseen the construction of the Khazar fortress of Sarkel, to take direct control over the city and its environs, establishing the theme of Klimata/Cherson. It remained in Byzantine hands until the 980s, when it reportedly fell to Kiev. Vladimir the Great agreed to evacuate the fortress only if Basil II's sister Anna Porphyrogeneta would be given him in marriage. The demand caused a scandal in Constantinople, as imperial princesses had never been married to non-Greeks before. As a pre-condition for the marriage settlement, Vladimir was baptized here in 988, proceeding to baptize his family and people in Kiev. The place of Vladimir's baptism is marked by St. Vladimir's Cathedral.

Хм, все думала, с чего же начать свой рассказ про Крым. В итоге решила начать с конца... Сегодня я расскажу вам о древнем городе Херсонесе, развалины которого находятся в крымском Севастополе. Сюда мы попали в конце нашего путешествия. Просто потрясающее место! Я вообще, очень люблю историю и все связанное с древними мирами, развалинами и цивилизациями (Индиана Джонс в юбке). Поэтому, в поездках до пляжа мы обычно так и не доходим, проводя сутки напролет на экскурсиях. А здесь есть, что посмотреть. Просто кожей чувствуешь дыхание ушедших эпох! И если закрыть глаза, то пустынные улочки заполняются многоликой толпой: шумные торговцы, зазывающие горожан в свои лавочки прикупить заморские диковинки; служанки, остановившиеся посплетничать о последних городских новостях; молодая аристократка, снисходительно наблюдающая за попытками кормилицы успокоить раскапризничавшегося наследника.  Но стоит открыть глаза, и видишь лишь это...

First day of summer!...С ПЕРВЫМ ДНЕМ ЛЕТА!

Hurrah! It is summer.  Came at last!  Say "Yes" to late sunsets, sun bathes and salty sea splashes! Picnics and resort adventures. You never know all pleasant things  are possible to find in the summer...  Put on convenient sneakers and lets go for a walk in park! 

And today we with the main member of our family want to congratulate you on the International Children's Day! And I strong wish that this day politicians of the whole world remembered the main sense of this holiday and about the right of the child for the happy childhood, without wars and fear. And also they will take the best efforts for this purpose!

Ура! Вот оно - лето. Пришло наконец! Да здравствуют поздние закаты, солнечные ванны и  соленые морские брызги! Песни цикад в полуденный зной и птичьи трели в зеленых кронах деревьев! Дачные пикники и курортные приключения. Да мало ли еще каких приятностей можно найти в лете... Обувай удобные кроссовки и пошли гулять в парк!
